This morning, shortly after 6 a.m., New York State Police at Catskill responded to a one-car motor vehicle crash on Route 23 near the Windham town line in the Town of Ashland in Greene County.
Investigation revealed that Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy Kevin Haverly, 26 , was operating his police vehicle westbound on Route 23 when he exited the roadway, striking a telephone pole. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
