The status quo will remain the status quo in the village of Saugerties as four individuals have registered for the March 21 election, all of them incumbents.

William Murphy will again run for mayor, Brian Martin, and Jeannine Mayer for trustee, and Jeff Helmuth, who was appointed to the board last year to the seat vacated by Patrick Landewe, will run to retain that seat.

Uncontested races are the norm for the village in recent years. There have been only two contested mayoral races since 2000 and there hasn’t been a race for trustee since 2011.
