In 2015, the legendary Native American singer/songwriter Buffy Sainte-Marie released a fabulous hybrid traditional/electro effort, Power in the Blood. It finds the artist refreshed, engaged and at the top of her formidable game. Its modern production elements hardly feel forced or gratuitous, but rather ominous and completely integrated into Sainte-Marie’s powerfully organic spiritual/political urgency.
