The New Paltz Police Department is investigating a stabbing that occurred early Saturday morning at a bar in the Village of New Paltz.
New Paltz Police Lieutenant Rob Lucchesi said police responded to reports of a large fight at Cabaloosa on Main Street around 1:50 a.m.
While on scene, officers located a patron who had been stabbed inside the bar. Officers administered first aid and the victim was transported to an area hospital by Mobile Life ambulance. There is no further information about the victim’s injury at this time.
The investigation is continuing and the New Paltz Police Department is asking anyone with information to contact them at (845) 255-1323. All calls will be kept confidential.
The New Paltz Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, the New York State Police, SUNY New Paltz police, the Town of Lloyd Police Department and the Shawangunk Police Department.
