Fruition Chocolate of Shokan has taken home the title of Best in Competition at London’s International Chocolate Awards, meaning a local, Catskills-based company has been crowned one of the best chocolate-makers in the world. From a vast pool of global contenders, only two companies emerged with Best in Competition awards this year: Fruition, established in 2011, and renowned French chocolate-maker Bonnat, established in the 19th century.
For the second consecutive year, Fruition has garnered gold at the competition. Over the course of the past year alone, Fruition has been awarded national accolades from San Francisco’s Good Food Awards and Seattle’s Northwest Chocolate Awards, in addition to opening its second boutique in Woodstock.
“It’s an amazing honor to be recognized by the International Chocolate Awards” said chocolate maker and chocolatier Bryan Graham in a videoed acceptance speech shown at the awards ceremony. His business partner and spouse Dahlia Graham added “winning awards like these validates all of the love and hard work we put in – it’s well worth it and we look forward to seeing what the future brings.”
On November 5, Fruition’s Shokan workshop (at 3091 State Route 28) hosted its fifth year anniversary Open House & Tasting.
