The 51st annual Saugerties Mum Festival, to be held noon-5 p.m. Sunday, October 9 (rain date is Sunday, October 16 at Seamon Park, 5 Malden Avenue (Route 9W) in the Village of Saugerties, coincides with the 107th anniversary of Seamon Park.
The Mum Festival weekend actually begins with the Mum Bowl, the Saugerties vs. Red Hook High School football game Saturday, October 8 at Saugerties High, where the coronation of the Mum Queen and her Court takes place.
Sunday’s activities at the park John Seamon donated to the Village in 1909 include the Mum Queen and her court presenting flowers courtesy of the Saugerties Society of Little Gardens; live music with band and chorus, an art show, children’s activities, free horse rides, local vendors and refreshments.
The festival is free and open to the public.
