The second murder in less than a week occurred in Saugerties last night.
Police arrested Karon Bowden, 41, of 26 Randle Crt., Saugerties, and charged him with second-degree murder in the slaying of Amy L. Burger, 24, by gunshot.
Police discovered the body at the Randle Crt. address last night at 9:43 p.m. Bowden was taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and sent to Ulster County Jail without bail.
The Saugerties Police were assisted in the investigation by members of the NY State Police BCI, Uniform Division, and the Forensic Investigation Unit in addition to both uniform members and detectives from the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office.
Bowden is due back in court later today.
On Thursday, May 26, Earl T. Edwards, was charged with killing Rameen L. Perry at a village home across the street from Seamon Park.
Before that, the last murder in Saugerties occurred in 2007, when Anthony Passaro killed his wife Tracy.
