Saugerties Police responded to a 911 call last night at around 9:30 p.m. reporting a person with a gun chasing another person while shooting at them in the vicinity of Country Club Dr. in Mount Marion.
Police arrested Dylan Amell, 16, of Mount Marion, on the felony charges of criminal possession of a firearm in the second degree, criminal possession of a firearm in the third degree and the misdemeanor of menacing in the second degree.
The victim said he and Amell were arguing over money Amell owed him. During the course of the argument Amell allegedly pulled out a hand gun and began shooting at the victim. The victim was not struck, however he did sustain minor injuries during the altercation. He was evaluated at the scene by paramedics from DIAZ Ambulance. The handgun used by Amell was recovered by Saugerties Police detectives about two blocks from the scene of the shooting several hours later.
Amell was arraigned in the Town of Saugerties Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail.
