“Its the statue of the Lady Republic.
It stands in the Square Republic, the site of the million strong march after Charlie Hebdo,
And more recently a major gathering point of protest on both sides of the refugee crisis.
Its a few blocks from the Bataclan,
And generally serves as a symbol of tension here in the city;
It is also serving as a memorial place for the attacks — flowers, vigil candles, protest signs and the like are placed here recently…”
