Marshall Crenshaw played Lennon in Beatlemania and scored a pop hit of lasting influence in “Someday, Someway”; but if that is all you know of him, you have missed a career of consistent freshness and renewal, literate songcraft, whiz-bang guitar-playing and a festival of melody. American guitar-pop legend and longtime local resident Marshall Crenshaw returns to the Falcon in Marlboro on Friday, August 28, with Jacob Augustine opening at 7 p.m. Per usual, there is no cover at the Falcon (even for pop eminences of Crenshaw’s magnitude), but generous donation is strongly encouraged.
