A new business provides kayak and paddleboard rentals and tours on the Esopus and Hudson.

Gail Porter’s I Paddle NY operates out of Lynch’s Marina on Ferry St. and the old carousel building at the foot of Partition St.

“It’s a great way to see the creek up close, its animals, its flora, and relax the day away,” Porter’s daughter, Danielle Millett, said, who’s been an avid paddle boarder since she was old enough to stand on one and manages a blog that does paddle board reviews.

Porter is an American Canoe Association certified kayak instructor and is Red Cross-certified in AED/CPR/First Aid. She serves on the Stewardship Committee of the Esopus Nature Conservancy and is a partner of Riverkeeper.

Tours are in the $40 to $60 range, while rentals are between $25 and $40 per hour.
