Secret Gardens of Saugerties Tour July 11

secret garden SQEach year, the Secret Gardens Tour offers the opportunity to visit private gardens that are not otherwise open to the public. In 2014, well over 300 people were lucky enough to discover secret gardens at private homes in Saugerties. This year the tour is on Saturday, July 11 — what a coincidence, as it is the 11th year of the tour! The tour will showcase six private gardens in Saugerties. Each garden is ablaze with the creativity and original style of the owner. The tour attracts gardeners and outdoor lovers from all over. Many are surprised to find such imaginative use of outdoor space.

Each of the gardens is unique and wonderful in its own way. Since these are “Secret Gardens,” the names and locations are kept under wraps until the day of the tour. To see pictures from the gardens on previous tours, visit Secret Gardens Tour on Facebook.

Proceeds from this year’s tour will benefit the Boys & Girls Club and the Ulster County SPCA.

The tour will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 and will be on sale through July 9 at Smith Hardware and Herzog’s True Value in Kingston. Tickets are also available through the mail by sending a check payable to the Boys and Girls Club, along with your name, address and email or phone number to Secret Gardens Tour, P.O. Box 32, Malden, NY 12453. Mail order requests must be received by July 3rd.

Tickets on the day of the tour will be $30 at 201 Washington Ave. (corner Finger St.), Saugerties, between 10:30 A.M. – 12:30 P.M. Torrential rain date is Sunday, July 12. For additional information call 246-0710.
