Oteora High School/Middle School’s production of Ghost the Musical will be performed at 7 p.m. Friday, April 17; 7 p.m. Saturday, April 18 and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 19 at Harry Simon Auditorium at the High School in Boiceville. Ghost the Musical is the stage musical adaptation of the popular 1990 film, starring Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze, about a love so strong that it reaches beyond the grave.
Onteora’s production stars Daniel Foster as a banker named Sam Wheat, Shannon Sperl as Molly Jensen, the sculptor who is the love of his life, and Alexandra Toro as Oda Mae Brown, the psychic who helps the couple communicate after Sam’s death. Iwan Traeger-Payne plays the role of Carl Bruner, a friend of Sam’s, and Sammy Corwin plays Willie Lopez, Sam’s murderer.
The production features a student cast and crew of 40 under the direction of Onteora community member Victoria McCarthy. Onteora Music teacher Krista Cayea is the show’s musical director, while community member Amber McCarthy is serving as choreographer. Members of the Onteora High School Band and Orchestra, under the direction of former Onteora Music teacher Wini Baldwin, are providing musical accompaniment.
