The story of an influential early 19th-century pastor who was born a slave on a large estate in Dutchess County.

Jeff Logan.
Jeff Logan.

New Paltz Town Supervisor Susan Zimet has appointed councilman Jeff Logan as deputy supervisor. “While Jeff and I had a bit of a rocky start, Jeff has been very helpful and available on many key projects the Town Board is working on,” said Zimet. “While Jeff juggles his work as a nurse and co-owner of the Cheese Plate, he also dedicates invaluable time on town projects into his schedule. The other members of the Town Board support this choice and join me in congratulating Jeff. I would like to thank Jeff for the spirit of cooperation and dedication to the community of New Paltz which runs deep.”

Councilman Logan was honored by the appointment.

“I would like to thank Supervisor Zimet for the confidence she has in my abilities to serve as her deputy supervisor. I take this responsibility seriously and will be committing to be in Town Hall at least eight to ten hours a week in order to help the supervisor with day-to-day operations and to further some of the exciting projects the Town Board is working on. I am very proud of the existing Town Board and the productivity and respect we all have for each other. It is a great board!”
