Due to last night’s storm, there have been some changes in the lineup of the City of Poughkeepsie’s 20th annual Celebration of Lights Parade and Fireworks, according to Bardavon impressario Chris Silva. The fireworks will now be the climax of Poughkeepsie’s annual Family Day & Holiday Scavenger Hunt and Tree Lighting and Fireworks Finale on Saturday, December 7th. At 4:30 p.m. the Dongan Square Christmas Tree will be lit, followed by the Legion Fireworks display.

Participation in the Holiday Scavenger Hunt is free, and registration begins at 11 a.m. at Caffe Aurora, where registrants will pick up their item card and area map for the hunt, which takes place within Poughkeepsie’s River District and Little Italy. The day’s entertainment at Dongan Square Park begins at noon and will include a petting zoo, performances by Uncle Rock and Story Laurie, carolers, face-painters and Santa Claus.

Parking is available in the City of Poughkeepsie municipal lots. For further details, log on to www.bardavon.org or call (845) 473-2072.
