The town supervisor is important, but it’s just one out of five votes on any resolution or law. That’s why the Town Board matters.
As it stands, Supervisor Kelly Myers and fellow Republican James Bruno are in the minority, with Fred Costello, Leeanne Thornton and Bruce Leighton forming a Democrat-backed majority (though none are Democrats themselves).
With Bruno and Leighton up for reelection, as well as Myers, the board majority could change this election.
The other two candidates are William Schirmer, a Republican, and Marjorie Block, a Democrat.
You can vote for any two candidates.
