Visit seven wonderful gardens in Saugerties at their most beautiful on the Secret Gardens Tour Saturday, July 13 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. These are truly special secret spots, each different and unique. Since these are “Secret Gardens,” the names and locations are kept under wraps until the day of the tour. Proceeds from the tour benefit the Saugerties Boys & Girls Club with a portion of the proceeds going to the Ulster County SPCA.
This year’s tour will go right past the Saugerties Farmers Market, where tour participants may purchase a special price-fixed $10 lunch that includes beverage and dessert. The menu will feature local food selections from three market vendors: Heather Ridge Farm, Karen’s Country Kitchen and Me-Oh-My Café. Tour guests (as well as market customers) can comfortably dine at café tables under market umbrellas. Selections will include Monte Cristo sandwiches, waffles with market fruits, chicken breast sandwiches, grilled market veggie sandwiches, gluten-free chili or chicken salad plates, and in addition, several other market vendors will offer à la carte items.
Tickets sell out each year, so early purchase is recommended. Tickets are $20, available through July 11 at Smith Hardware, 227 Main St., and Herzog’s True Value in the Kingston Plaza. If tickets are still available day of tour, purchase for $30 at 201 Washington Ave. from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. tour will run if it rains, but in the event of torrential rain will be moved to Sunday, July 14.
