Hotdogs & history at Hyde Park Station
This Saturday, June 15 at 12 noon, come on down to the Hyde Park Station for hotdogs and history. Hyde Park Station celebrates its summer season opening with hotdogs to commemorate the unusually casual picnic served by president Franklin Roosevelt at his nearby Hyde Park home in 1939 to King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. This “hotdog summit” is said to have resulted in an important boost to Anglo-American relations, critical to the alliance going into World War II.
Hyde Park Station is located at 34 River Road in Hyde Park. For more information, visit www.hydeparkstation.com.

Tivoli Free Library hosts YA author Thomm Quackenbush
What a treat when young people have the opportunity to meet the author of a book that they’ve read! On Friday, June 14 at 7 p.m., local Young Adult author of the Night’s Dream series Thomm Quackenbush hosts a reading and book-signing at the Tivoli Free Library. Will he share about his experiences researching UFOs in Pine Bush? Or discuss the genre in which he writes?
“Fantasy is sometimes just asking yourself, ‘Well, what if you are wrong? What if the world doesn’t work the way you think? What would that mean?’” You’ll just have to come and find out!
The Tivoli Free Library is located in Watts dePeyster Hall at 86 Broadway in Tivoli. For more information, call (845) 757-3771 or visit www.tivolilibrary.org. To learn more about the author, visit www.xenex.org.
