Family Day at Woodstock Artists’ Association
Pablo Picasso said, “If I paint a wild horse, you might not see the horse…but surely you will see the wildness!” Head out with your kids and grandkids next Saturday for some opportunities to connect with some of that wildness and other sentiments through works of Cubism at the Woodstock Artists’ Association and Museum (WAAM)’s Family Day. Family Day takes place on Saturday, March 16 from 1 to 3 p.m. This program is free and open to all ages with parental supervision.
WAAM is located at 28 Tinker Street in Woodstock. For more information, call (845) 679-2940 or visit ulsterpub.staging.wpengineart.org.

Upstate Films in Rhinebeck screens Peaceable Kingdom
I liked the sound of the movie Peaceable Kingdom when I first encountered it, and when I looked into it further and viewed the trailer, I knew that I wanted to share the information with you. This movie follows the journey of farming families who find themselves rethinking their relationships with animals from commodity to connectedness. I think that this movie could provide rich discussion fodder with older youth and teens.
Peaceable Kingdom will be screened on Sunday, March 17 at 1:30 p.m. at Upstate Films, located at 6415 Montgomery Street/Route 9 in Rhinebeck. The film is unrated, and seating is first-come, first-served. This free screening is followed by a vegan reception and a talk by the filmmakers at the Rhinebeck Town Hall, located at 76 East Market Street.
For more information or reception reservations, call (845) 876-2626 or e-mail rsvp@mhvs.org. To learn more about the movie, visit www.peaceablekingdomfilm.org.
