Talk about a deal: You pay between $25 to $50 to attend the Saturday, February 2 fundraiser for the Kingston Museum of Contemporary Art (KMoCA) on Abeel Street, and get not only the usual wine-and-cheese and great conversation, but also an artwork from one of the 25 artists from the innovative gallery’s stable of regional talents. And the funding goes toward keeping another year of KMoCA shows running under the able direction of Adam Snyder, Deborah Degraffenreid and Michael Asbill.
Amongst the artists celebrating KMoCA, which has cemented the Rondout arts scene since 2005, are Bill Rybak, Kate Hamilton, Wayne Montecalvo, Laura Moriarty, Judy Sigunick, Jenny Lee Fowler, Eliza Pritzker, Eija Lindsey, Michael Lalicki, Michael X. Rose, Neal Hollinger, Sarah Mecklem, Pamela Wallace, Stephen Reynolds, Jacinta Bunnell, Tom DeLooza, Keiko Sono, Mimi Graminski, Tana Kellner, Sigrid Sarda, Tona Wilson, Kaete Brittin Shaw, Lindsay Stern, Alicia Mikles, Ken Grey and Deborah Degraffenreid. Now if that’s not an art deal – and a great way of getting a start on this month’s First Saturday events in Kingston – who knows what is?
2013 Fundraiser, Saturday, February 2, 3-9 p.m., KMoCA, 103 Abeel Street, Kingston; www.kmoca.com.
