Kingston Fire Department Chief John Reinhardt has issued the following update on two city firefighters injured after they jumped from the second floor of a building on fire on Franklin Street Saturday, Dec. 29.
This is an update on the two Firefighter that were injured fighting the 4 alarm fire at 78 Franklin Street on Saturday evening, December 29th.
Firefighter Thomas Metzger – 13 years on KFD – Sustained a fractured left wrist & a fractured left elbow – admitted overnight to hospital – underwent procedures today for both injuries & has been released & is now at home – will require extensive treatment & therapy  & will be out of work for an extended period of time.
Firefighter Brian Renn – 9 1/2 years on KFD – Sustained a collapsed lung – was transferred from Kingston Hospital to Albany Medical Center last night – was treated for the injury & is being released to go home this afternoon – will require some time off & will be out of work for an unknown period of time.
