The 2013 Saugerties Public Library budget passed 373 to 159. The $599,434 budget ($521,963.75 tax levy) included a tax rate of 27.6 cents per $1,000 of assessed value, an increase of .41 cents per $1,000.
Seven candidates vied for three seats on the Board of Trustees. Voters elected newcomer Cynthia Saporito with 304 votes, and incumbent Elizabeth Hernandez, with 287 votes, to five-year terms on the library board. Irene Hurst received 170 votes to win a one-year term.
