Pet parade in the village next week

A pet parade is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 9 at 1 p.m. in the village of Saugerties. The procession will start at the corner of Market and Main Streets and continue for a quarter of a mile, ending at the municipal lot on Partition and Russell Streets. The party continues at the Saugerties beach with a pet fair: prizes, food, fun and pet vendors. Prizes awarded for Best Pet Costume, Best Pet Talent, and Most Beautiful Pet (male and female categories). Registration fee is $7 in advance, $10 the day of event with proceeds in full going to benefit the Saugerties Animal Shelter.
