On Saturday, June 23 at the Saugerties Farmers Market, expect to find just-picked baby bok choi, basil, carrots, cherries, dandelion greens, fresh garlic, mushrooms, peaches, peas, purslane, summer squash, Swiss chard, zucchini blossoms, and more. Cascade Winery now carries cheeses from the Amazing Real Live Food company; Lenny B’s smoked trout can be purchased at Mangia Bene; the Bakeshop offers gluten-free bread, scones, and new and improved hand pizzas; and Shoving Leopard Farms expects a variety of annuals to augment their garden bouquets and aromatic herbs. Enjoy live music during brunch, featuring tasty selections from Block Factory Tamales, Heather Ridge Farm pastured meats, the Bakeshop and Our Daily Bread. Mamalama’s original songs for harp/voice, dulcimer and violin will weave together folk and classical music with mystical, image-rich poetry. Children can create paper beads this week at Art Lab’s tent from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Cornell Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners provide their monthly session this week at the market, too, offering free soil testing and good advice to home gardeners. The Saugerties Farmers Market is open every Saturday until October 20 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at 115 Main St., rain or shine. For more information, visit www.saugertiesfarmersmarket.com. EBT/food stamps gladly accepted.
