In celebration of the Jewish Community Center’s tenth anniversary, the Jewish congregation of New Paltz (JCNP) will be hosting a fundraiser. “Rafflepalooza” will be held this Saturday, April 21 from 7:30 to 10 p.m. For ten years the Jewish Community Center has been providing lectures, luncheons, performances, films and an annual blood drive, while also serving the greater New Paltz Community. “Rafflepalooza” will feature cash prizes from $250 to a whopping $3,000. There will also be bonus prizes awarded that were donated by individual congregation members — such as a cruise on the Hudson River or a New York City apartment for the weekend.
“Lots of local businesses have also donated gift cards,” said Spense Rohrlick, a member of the fundraising committee.
Please Eat the Daisies will cater the event and local merchants and JCNP members will provide wine. The local band “Breakaway” will also be performing throughout the night.
“The crowd gets really psyched up when the raffle starts. I personally like the food,” Rohrlick said.
If you want to join in on the food, dancing or cash prizes, you must prepay for a ticket. They are $100 and that includes you and a guest. For tickets or more information, call Rohrlick at 255-5116. The event will be held at the Jewish Community Center, which is located at 30 North Chestnut Street in New Paltz.
