Hunt for Easter eggs in New Paltz, Gardiner and Highland

The Town of Lloyd will hold its annual Easter egg hunt this Saturday, March 31 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., beginning with ages newborn to 3 years old in the fenced-in courtyard on Main Street and continuing at 15-minute intervals between each age group. The 4-to-6-year-olds will have their hunt at the Methodist Church at 11:45 a.m., followed by a noon egg hunt for 7-to-9-year-olds on the front lawn of the Highland Library. The event will also include a visit from an Easter Bunny named Hamlet, who will be on hand and provide storytelling for the kids, as well as an “H” contest for kids that if filled out correctly (challenging them to know the history of Highland as well as businesses beginning with H), will award them with a prizewinning basket. There are also prizes hidden inside the eggs. The Gardiner Day Committee will host the annual Easter egg hunt at Majestic Park in Gardiner this Saturday, March 31 at noon. Gardiner residents between the ages of 1 and 12 are invited to participate. Special prizes will be awarded in every age group. Bring baskets or bags for the eggs, wear boots and dress warm. Get your entry tickets at the Gardiner Town Hall during business hours Monday through Friday. Tickets are $1 per child.

The New Paltz Youth Program will host the annual Easter egg hunt at Historic Huguenot Street in New Paltz this Saturday, March 31 at 1 p.m. Five thousand eggs will be hidden and prizes will be awarded to those who find the gold and silver eggs. The event will also feature face painting and a 25th anniversary celebration and prizes. The hunt is free for those ages 1-12. The event is held rain or shine and starts at the Dubois Visitor Center. For additional information, call 255-5140.

The New Paltz United Methodist Women will sponsor their annual Easter egg hunt at the church at the corner of Main and Grove streets on Saturday, April 7, starting at 10:30 — rain or shine. There will be activities, refreshments and the hunt for children ages 12 and under. All children with their parents are welcome.
