The Arm-of-the-Sea invites community members, both adults and children age 10 and up, to help perform in its 2011 Esopus Creek Puppet Suite. One part of this year’s show will be drawn from the Iroquois story “Peacemaker and the Tree of the Great Peace.”
The show will run about 25 minutes in length, and features live music and dozens of small and large puppet figures like “Ta-Do-Da-Ho,” the legendary snake-haired chief of the Onondaga people. The theater group also seeks musicians, hospitality providers, and behind-the-scenes stage managers.
The project takes place at the Waterfront Park in Saugerties. Rehearsals will be Aug. 8,9,10, and 11 from 6-9:30 p.m. Performances are at 8 p.m. on Friday, August 12 and Saturday, August 13, with a rain date of Sunday, August 14.
