Sadell Cantor , 76, of Wallkill, New York passed away after a brief illness on Thursday November 11, 2021, at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born August 18, 1945, in Yonkers, New York she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Molly (Roond) Furman.
On December 25, 1965, in Yonkers, New York, Sadell married the love of her life, Irwin Cantor. They had nearly 57 happy years together before her passing.
She was an Earth Science teacher and was employed by the Newburgh Enlarged City School District, Newburgh, New York until her retirement in 2002.
She always looked for the good in people and when she found it, she loved them.
Survivors include her devoted husband, Irwin Cantor; her daughters, Amy Donders and her husband, Lloyd of Hasting-on-Hudson, NY and Wendy Cantor-Branca and her husband, Ben of Highland, NY; her sister, Deborah Gottheim of Ardsley, NY; her two grandchildren, Joshua and Anya Donders of Hasting-on-Hudson, NY; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Sadell was also predeceased by her sister, Sandra Goldberg; her brother, Walter Furman; and her nephew, Samuel Gottheim.
Friends may call on Monday November 15, 2021, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Copeland-Hammerl Funeral Home, 162 S. Putt Corners Road, New Paltz, New York 12561. Cantor Robin will start the services promptly at 1 p.m. and the floor will be opened after for family and friends to eulogize and share memories of Sadell. The family requests that any unvaccinated visitors wear masks, to ensure the safety of others.
