Richard Clayton (Dick) Jeffery passed away peacefully in his home in Sarasota, Florida on October 12, 2020. A lifelong successful career artist and painter, Dick spent his time between Woodstock, NY and Sarasota, FL, traveling between the two locations seasonally before retiring full time to Sarasota. In his life, Dick, a graduate of Syracuse University who attended on a full art scholarship, served in the armed services during World War 2. During the war Dick spent time overseas in Germany and France. He was an artist of landscape painting by trade and spent a lot of time in his art studio in Woodstock. Below his studio sat the Jeffery Gallery where his artwork was proudly displayed and available for purchase. He loved to share his knowledge of all things and tell stories about his life. In his spare time, Dick enjoyed tinkering with any and all projects. During his life he enjoyed astronomy, landscaping, fish, literature and Tootsie Rolls.
Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Lasher Jeffery and son, David. Dick is survived by his granddaughter and husband, Elizabeth & Piotr Baranowski; “daughter-in-law” Fran Daddona, “grandson” and wife, Michael & Erica Daddona along with four great grandchildren.
