Micca

Micca, also known as Mimi, was the beloved emotional support animal of Judy Joffee and her late husband Bob Hughes. She was the victim of a hit and run on Shivertown Road on Wednesday January 26 at 3:33 pm. She sustained severe trauma, waited for Judy to get her, and was euthanized that evening. The vast kindness of 2 passing motorists, the New Paltz Animal Hospital, and the Flannery Animal Hospital staff was so very appreciated.

Micca would have been 12 years old on Valentine’s Day. She took care of her human family with joy. She loved her life at Rancho Dar A Luz with farm animals, visitors, swimming ponds, balls, and lots of sticks. She spent time giving her comfort to others at inpatient and home hospice situations. Along with near and far hikes, she enjoyed friendships and treats at the Bakery, True Value, the New Paltz Dump, and the Ulster Savings Bank.

Our loss is tragic, the comfort she gave others is endless.
