Louis William Tierney, 86, of New Paltz, New York passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born December 7, 1934 in Blooming Grove, New York he was the son of the late Walter Thomas and Helen (Wilcox) Tierney.
Louis married the love of his life, Elizabeth Thurin on Feb. 22, 1955. They had over 48 happy years together before her passing in 2003.
He worked as a Service Manager for Louis Smith Chevrolet in Highland, New York until his retirement in 1996.
Survivors include Louis W. & Eleanor Tierney of Leland, NC, Tommy & Nancy Tierney of Kingston, NY and Michael & Julie Tierney of New Paltz, NY. Grandchildren, Jason Tierney, Christine Tierney and Allison Tierney. Kristen Culver, Shawn Tierney and Kaylie Tierney. Great grandchildren, Sophia Smith, Jackson Cosimo, Luke Tierney, Cara Rusk and Piper Lantz. Also survived by his sister Veronica Dodd and Vivien Hartman, his companion of 8 years.
