James “Jim” S. Wilson, 93, of Twin Oaks Dr., died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022 at the Kingston Hospital.
Born October 3, 1928 in Torhamn, Sweden. Proud father of five sons: Christopher of Shokan, James of TN., Wayne and Robert Wilson (Carol) both of Florida. He was predeceased by a son, Alfred Wilson. Other survivors include three grandchildren: Tonia Wilson Kimble, Quentin Wilson and Naelyn Colette; as well as several great and great-great-grandchildren. He served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. Jim was honorably discharged where he earned the Navy Cross, Silver Star, Presidential Unit Citation, the Navy Good Conduct Medal and a Purple Heart. An area resident for many years, he was employed as a foreman for the NYSDOT. He was a member of the American Legion Post of Woodstock and the VFW.
His funeral and burial with military honors will be in the spring in the New Paltz Veteran’s Cemetery.
