Eugene Coddington

Eugene Coddington, age 74, of New Paltz, NY, died Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.  He was born June 12, 1944 in New Paltz, NY, the son of the late Carl and Lulu (Williams) Coddington.

Gene was employed by Rondout Manufacturing in High Falls, NY, until his retirement in 2014.  He had been a member of the U.S. Army Reserves and was a life member of the New Paltz Rod and Gun Club.  He lived to hunt, fish and play golf.  He was a former member of the New Paltz Golf Course.  He loved four-wheeling in the Adirondacks; fishing in the Ashokan and Rondout Reservoirs and especially loved his son’s camp in the Adirondacks.

He is survived by his son: Jason L. Coddington of New Paltz; his granddaughter, Haylee Coddington of New Paltz; three sisters, Loretta Corwin of NJ, Lorraine DuBois of New Paltz and Carol Coddington of Highland; two brothers, Carlson “Sonny” Coddington and Bobby Coddington, both of New Paltz and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a sister, Joan Place.

A Celebration of His Life will be held at the New Paltz Elks Lodge at a later date.
