Woodstock:Â Edith C. Wright, 87, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Golden Hill Nursing and Rehab Center in Kingston.
Born November 7, 1930 in Everett, MA, she was the daughter of the late Frederick H. and Anna C. Bosfield Yancey and had resided in Woodstock for many years.
Edith was community oriented and participated in several things. She was a Constable for the Town of Woodstock and also was a corrections officer, worked at Rotron, served on the Woodstock Rescue Squad as driver and EMT. She was a member of the Woodstock Fire Police, a volunteer for Woodstock Area Meals on Wheels and was honored as the Volunteer of the Year.
She was predeceased by her sons Christopher and Geoffrey, and her siblings, Elizabeth, Benjamin, Howell, Raymond, Stanley, James and Irving Victor Yancey.
Surviving are her sons, Harold Wright, III of Latham and Peter Wright of Laguna Hills, CA, grandchildren, Kayla, Jordan Joel and Marqus, and a great grandchild, Ashlynn.
Friends will be received Friday 4-8pm at Lasher Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Tinker St., Woodstock. A celebration of her life will be 1pm Saturday at the funeral home.
