Dolores Marie Hagedorn

Dolores Marie Hagedorn, 86, of Woodstock, New York, passed away on January 26, 2023 in Flagler Beach, Florida. Dolores was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 30, 1936, to Leslie and Helen Towler. Dolores is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 68 years, James A. Hagedorn along with her children, Brenda (David Brunk) Hagedorn, Brian (Joan) Hagedorn, Beth Hagedorn-Cottier, and Nichole Hagedorn; her grandchildren, John James Hagedorn and Casey Cottier as well as her sisters, Kathleen (Richard) Fox, Joyce Hines and Ruth (Jean) Potts. She is predeceased by her grandchild, Tyler Cottier, her son-in-law, Busey Cottier and her two brothers, William Towler and Robert Calamari. Dolores is also survived by many other relatives and friends. Although she lived a full life, she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Dolores was a determined, hard-working, and energetic businesswoman. While raising her four children, she started a real estate company out of her home.  She was the Broker/Owner of Westwood Country Realty in West Hurley, one of the top producing real estate companies in Ulster County which was later named Westwood Metes and Bounds. She was an active member of the Ulster County Board of REALTORS® (1973 to present), The National Association of REALTORS®, and she was designated REALTOR® Emeritus by the Board of Directors in 2009 a nd was awarded Realtor of the Year in 1978.  Her professional designations included CRS, ABR, GRI, and SRES.  Throughout her real estate career, she helped many people reach the American Dream of owning a home.

She was a former member of the Kingston Hospital Foundation Board and Kingston Hospital Auxiliary presently the “Supporting Friends of Health Alliance”. Dolores was an active member of St. John’s Parish in Woodstock. She volunteered on many committees including the financial committee which was instrumental in the planning of building St John’s Church in West Hurley and headed the advent of the Tree of Life. She was very generous and financially supported many charitable organizations throughout her life. Dolores was a lifelong learner and an avid bridge player. In her retirement she developed an even greater love for the game. She had many friends through her memberships in the bridge clubs that she played.

A mass of Christian Burial will be scheduled in Woodstock, New York at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Smile Train and St. Jude in her name. A Tribute Book will be organized using condolences and photos shared with the family at LasherFH.com
