David Moskowitz passed away early on Saturday morning, September 8, 2018 after an extended illness. His generous heart, his sense of humor and his quiet wisdom will be greatly missed. He left us peacefully in the arms of his wife Kerry. David lived in Boiceville for about 37 years. He was born on September 22, 1944 in the Bronx, New York City to Charles Moskowitz and Gussie Czitrom Moskowitz. As a child he spent many happy years in Golden’s Bridge, a community in Westchester, NY. He lived in Manahattan in the late sixties to the early 1970s.
David, always a generous person with an abundant curiosity, worked with the Peace Corps in Afghanistan in the mid-sixties. He lived at the Phoenicia Pathwork Center for many years (now Menla) and helped build many of its buildings. The Center was his spiritual home and the Pathwork teachings guided him most of his adult life. He owned Core Builders which built many projects in the Hudson Valley. He constructed a beautiful passive solar home for his family in 1981, where he passed on Saturday. David was the Regional Director of the NY Region Pathwork for a few years. He counseled and taught the Pathwork teachings to countless students in Phoenicia, Boiceville, Kingston, Poughkeepsie, Albany, and in Mexico in Cuernavaca, Mexico City and Oaxaca.
Most recently he, with his wife Kerry, owned and managed several residential multi-family properties in the Albany, NY area. He will be missed by all for his kindness, his vision and his capacity to create whatever he set his mind to.
David is survived by his wife Kerry Moskowitz, his daughter Rachel Svoboda, her husband Julius Svoboda and their son Liam, his Ex-wife Phyllis Luberg, his brothers Peter Moskowitz and Danny Moskowitz (and their spouses), and his sister Leah Larsen and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
