When it comes to free speech, say it, don’t spray it — at least not directly in front of a surveillance camera.
Kingston police announced the arrest of Benjamin P. Lawrence, 29, on a felony charge of criminal mischief in the third degree in connection with graffiti sprayed on a mural outside of People’s Place in Kingston.
Police say Lawrence caused over $250 worth of damage when he allegedly spray-painted crude tags on the side of the building. He was identified after multiple tips were submitted after video of the incident was shared on social media, and subsequently turned himself in on April 28. He’s due back in court on May 12 to answer to the charges.
