An investigation is underway into a report of shots fired in broad daylight on Saturday, March 14 in the vicinity of Elmendorf Street and Wiltwyck Avenue.
According to comments made by Kingston police deputy chief Richard Negron to Daily Freeman, the investigation so far has confirmed shots were fired at 1 p.m., a vehicle appears to have been “struck”, and no injuries were reported.
In the past year, there have been several incidents involving firearms and other weapons in the city. Kingston police have a good track record when it comes to capturing suspects.

• Sep. 24, 2025 – Police reported a shooting near Liberty St. and Prospect St.
• Sep. 13, 2025 – A teen was stabbed near Liberty St. and Prospect St.
• Sep. 5, 2025 – Shots were fired near Elmendorf and Belvedere streets.
• Aug. 29, 2025 – A knife attack sent a teenager to the hospital
• Jul. 2, 2025 – Shots were fired, at the time the fourth such incident in eight months
