The last pilot to land a plane in the Hudson with no fatalities ended up a national hero with a feature film, so it will be interesting to hear details of the plane crash that occurred on March 2 at approximately 8:02pm, when a Cessna airplane landed int he water just south of the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge.

State police reported that the plane’s two occupants survived with minor injuries by swimming to shore near 401 Water St., after which they were transported to St. Luke’s Hospital.

Along with police, the National Transportation Safety Board is currently investigating the dramatic incident.
