Valentine’s weekend has a strong pulse in Ulster County this year. Dozens of venues are hosting special romantic nights, but cupid can’t miss with the picks below.
Let’s start with Friday the 13th. Admittedly it’s not the most romantic date on the calendar, but we can look beyond that for love.
In Woodstock, Colony Woodstock has fully embraced the holiday. Early in the night you get Joel Harrison’s “Cosmic Roadhouse,” a pre-Valentine’s party built around love songs, soul, and funk. Then the vibe pivots hard into eyeliner territory with a Gothic Prom Anti-Valentine’s Ball.
Over in Kingston, the all-male revenue Bronco: Bromance Edition will take over Unicorn Bar. Cupids, striptease, and a sweaty dance floor awaits current and potential lovers.

The Old Dutch Church will host the 4th annual Alentine’s Day, featuring live performances, vendors and an extraterrestrial theme. Al Olender, the bash’s folksy founder, will release her sophomore album on the same day.
Also on Friday in Kingston, Keegan Ales is celebrating Valentine’s day on the beach with the surf rock with The Sci-Flies, The Jagaloons, and The Dracu-Las.
At The Hudson House & Distillery, “Galentine’s Night Out” is a friend-forward pre-Valentine’s hang with local artisans and beauty/wellness vendors, with raffles and giveaways.
Saturday is the big night out.
For a family-friendly event, Hurley Library has a Valentine’s Story Hour with storytelling, songs, and simple crafts.
Colony Woodstock goes full theater mode with Cupid’s Cabaret, then keeps things moving later with a late night dance party with DJ Tryst.
If you want a dress-up night that isn’t a concert, there’s the Red and Black Affair at The Venue Uptown (aka the Best Western). DJ Ex will spin tunes (what a funny name for a Valentine’s DJ).
The love continues at Unicorn Bar with Touch: A Party for the Senses, a very adult dance party replete with a spanking station, flash tattoos, henna, a lube demo/tasting and “clay play”. There will be performances by Andramada, Veela Peculiar, Zee Liberation, Carrie Phoenix, and beats from DJ Dalex and DJ Prephab.
If you’re up in Saugerties and without a sweetheart, The Dutch Ale House is running “Blind Date with a Brew,” turning Valentine’s Day into a low-stakes tasting game instead of a romance script. If you’ve got a partner to boogie with, go for a more traditional Valentine’s Day Dance at the Saugerties Elks Lodge.
Queen of Rogues Gallery in Woodstock is hosting a Valentine’s Day party from 4-7 p.m. set alongside Suzuya Bobo’s solo exhibition, “Dirty Lenses / Clean Cuts.” The show features acrylic-embedded collages drawing from erotic imagery and vintage porn ephemera, exploring desire, memory, and the gaze.
Love Thyself Disco with Michael V is a freaky Valentine’s‑themed dance party spun by DJ Michael V. He’s known for high‑energy sets that blend house, disco and soulful beats and encourage a feel‑good, inclusive vibe on the floor. It all goes down at The Avalon Lounge in Catskill.
