If your snow shovel didn’t break scooping icy snow in Ulster County’s most recent storm, you’re in luck. Two more storms are coming within the next few days that will give your shoveling muscles a workout.

A Winter Weather Advisory will take effect in eastern Ulster County on Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 7pm and continue to 1am Thursday. Local forecasting experts noted the nature of the storm was difficult to predict. A mix of snow, sleet and rain is expected, with low accumulation totals, but travel is expected to be hazardous for the Thursday morning commute regardless of the exact mix. With lots of hard-to-spot ice lingering from the last storm on roads and sidewalks, extra care is urged when in motion.

Another messy storm is being forecast for Saturday, Feb. 15, predicted to be a similar icy mix of snow, sleet and rain that starts Saturday afternoon and runs into Sunday afternoon, when the precipitation is expected to become rain. With temperatures dropping below the 20s on Saturday night, expect another morning of difficult travel on Sunday.
