The New Paltz Police Department received confirmation from the National Weather Service in Albany that a tornado touched down in New Paltz, near the thruway interchange at approximately 5:52 p.m. Police officers have patrolled the surrounding area and have not found any damage to structures or reported injuries. The only known damage, at this time, is several uprooted trees.
