Onteora High School’s varsity eight-man football team split their last two Section 9 home games, carrying a 1-2 record into this Friday’s visit to Pine Plains/Rhinebeck.

It began on Saturday, September 18 with a 23-7 win over visiting Fallsburgh. Sophomore Reese Rotella tossed a pair of touchdowns for the Eagles, and Shayne Bresler ran in a score as well.

One week later, Spackenkill came to town, with the Eagles on the losing end of a 42-6 result. Bresler returned an interception for a touchdown, the lone score for the home team. Bresler compiled 11 tackles, four assists, and two pass breakups in a losing effort. Altiero (9 tackles, 7 assists) and Christofora (5 tackles, 5 assists) also contributed to the Onteora defense.
