New electric vehicle charging station proposed for New Paltz plaza

Rosendale to offer free charging station for electric cars

Town of New Paltz Planning Board members are reviewing an application to install Tesla-branded charging stations in the vicinity of the diner and movie theater in the uptown Tops plaza. Eight electric vehicle charging stations are proposed. Tesla CEO Elon Musk has said that other brands of electric vehicles are theoretically compatible with these charging stations, but whether or not that theory becomes reality may depend upon how much of an investment is made in the Tesla network from competing companies. Planning Board members appeared poised to approve this application as soon as it’s reviewed at a County Planning Board meeting.
