The Saugerties Animal Shelter is close to groundbreaking for a new building, Saugerties Councilman Michael Ivino reported at the town board meeting on April 7. “A site has been identified and it was a nice walk through last week that Fred [Costello] and I attended with the shelter staff and [engineer] Rich Praetorius,” said Ivino. “We’re excited and eager to get that going; we just have a couple of little issues to work out. I would like to thank the Tea House and Eric Sasso for their generous contributions to the animal shelter, as well as all those who continue to donate.”
