Catskill Mountainkeeper, Woodstock Land Conservancy and the Dump Here Never group are hosting a community forum on Tuesday, May 14 at 7 p.m. at the Saugerties High School auditorium at 310 Washington Ave., to discuss the fight against the construction and demolition dump on Route 212 in Saugerties. Learn from a panel of experts about the dump and efforts to halt its operations. There will be an opportunity to ask questions. The panel will be moderated by Catskill Mountainkeeper’s Kate Hagerman and include Saugerties Town Supervisor Fred Costello, dump neighbor Mike Ferraro and environmental attorney Emily Svenson. Costello will update the community on the challenges the town has faced while trying to implement enforcement actions, Ferraro will give a history of the dump and Svenson will detail some of the state laws the dump is violating.
