HealthAlliance’s Scarpino calling it a career

David Scarpino

David Scarpino will wrap up five years as HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley’s CEO on Dec. 31, HealthAlliance announced last week.

Taking over on an interim basis while WMCHealth seeks Scarpino’s permanent Kingston-based successor will be Tom Brunelle, who has more than 30 years of healthcare executive experience, most recently executive vice president of the Bon Secours Charity Health System, overseeing St. Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick and Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis. Brunelle will be based in Kingston and will report to Robert S. Ross, WMCHealth’s executive vice president for the northern region.

Scarpino took over as CEO in 2013 after serving as the company’s chief financial officer in 2008. Before that, starting in 2006 Scarpino was senior vice president of finance and chief financial officer of Kingston Hospital and its parent, Kingston Regional Health Care System. Scarpino came to Kingston after 37 years at the St. John’s Riverside Hospital System in Yonkers.
