Video: Amorous amphibians party all night in New Paltz vernal pool

Each spring after the first good rainfall, legions of amphibians make their way to vernal pools to mate. This year, with the lack of any snowmelt to speak of, the water levels were low at this pool at the Mohonk Preserve in New Paltz on the night of Wednesday, March 16. But if anything, the smaller space made it easier for these spotted salamanders to meet.
