breaking-news-sqState Police in Highland have charged two female residents and one male resident of the City of Newburgh in connection with the death of 28-year-old Alexis Scanlon of Newburgh. Her body was found by a public works maintenance crew on Friday, February 26 shortly before 7 a.m. in a ditch alongside New Unionville Road in Plattekill. The location is approximately two miles north of the Orange County line and less than a mile from Plattekill Elementary School on Route 32.

Angel Delgado Jr., 44, Kristen A. Green, 41 and Lauren A. Romano, 33, all residents of the City of Newburgh, were charged with concealment of a human corpse, a class E felony, and sixth-degree conspiracy, a class B misdemeanor.

State Police said Scanlon allegedly died Thursday, February 25 at the residence of Angel Delgado Jr. He was arrested along with Romano and Green, all three processed by State Police in Highland and arraigned in Town of Plattekill Court. They were subsequently remanded to Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.

Delgado was released from Ulster County Jail on Sunday, February 28 on $5,000 bail and the others remain behind bars as of press time.

The investigation was conducted by State Police Troop F’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Major Crimes Unit, Forensic Identification Unit and Computer Crimes Unit and the New York State Intelligence Center, which ultimately identified the body. The City of Newburgh Police Department also assisted with the investigation, which is ongoing.
