Monday Club scholarship

The Saugerties Monday Club will award their annual $1,500 Mary E. Pidgeon Gillespy Scholarship to a college-bound graduating senior in Saugerties. Applications are available in the high school’s guidance office and must be returned to the office by Friday, April 10. The award is based on excellence of character, academic standing, financial need and extracurricular activities. Selection is made by the Monday Club committee and is announced at graduation.


Friends of the Library scholarship

The Friends of the Saugerties Public Library will award a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating college-bound senior residing in Saugerties. The scholarship criteria is responsible volunteer service to the school and/or community. Service to school or public libraries will be given special consideration. Applications are available in the school library, guidance office or the Saugerties Public Library and must be returned to the guidance office by April 30.


Pro Musica scholarship

Saugerties Pro Musica will award their annual $500 scholarship in memory of Dr. Herman Ash to a graduating Saugerties resident pursuing an education in music or a music-related field. Consideration will be given to a student who has demonstrated dedication to their education and displays compassion and concern for community, classmates and fellow citizens. Applications are available at the high school guidance office or may be downloaded from Completed applications along with a letter of recommendation from a music teacher or mentor may be mailed to Saugerties Pro Musica, Box 276, Saugerties NY 12477. The deadline to submit applications is April 30.



Master Gardener scholarship

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ulster County’s Master Gardener Program will offer a $500 scholarship to any college-bound student in Ulster County pursuing a degree in horticulture, agriculture or environmental biology. Saugerties American Legion Post 72 scholarships

The Saugerties American Legion Post 72 will award $500 scholarships for patriotism and sports participation during Memorial Day services on Saturday, May 30. Seniors at Saugerties High School or John A. Coleman Catholic High School who will be entering college or the military are eligible. Applications are available at the high school guidance office and the American Legion Home, 30 John St. Applications must be returned by Friday, May 1.
